Oxplore Challenge video transcript. Megan, Oxplore Challenge session facilitator: The amazing thing about the Oxplore Challenge session was just how intuitive and easy it was to deliver. So the materials were all in one easy place to access. All that I had to do as a session leader was to have a look at the slide deck and essentially deliver that straight to the group of children. You know, it was all set up ready for me to deliver, ready to go. There is a set of session leader notes which provided some useful tips, guidance, talking points that might be useful in the session, but those were definitely suggestive rather than prescriptive. They gave me some ideas to talk about, but all I really needed was that slide deck to run through with the students because the topics of conversation in the Oxplore Challenge session were uh very interesting and exciting to the students. They felt able to really lead the discussion and so I was able to follow their instincts, follow their interests throughout the Oxplore Challenge session. I think the workbooks that were given to the students were also again very intuitive for them to use, perfectly aligned with the slide deck and the session notes I've been given so that it all married together in one pack. Text quote on screen from Mike Gough, Head Teacher at Goytre Fawr Primary School: The Oxplore activities were a wonderful way to stimulate creative, critical thinking in our children... it also allowed all of them to be included." Megan: I was really pleased in the feedback from teachers, and the headteacher who also accompanied the group, that the key piece of feedback they gave was that students who were often hesitant or reluctant to put hands up and contribute in the classroom setting felt really able to do so in the Oxplore Challenge session. They were talking about new ideas and so I think that really encouraged some students who were usually more hesitant to deliver their own thoughts and ideas which was really nice. Text quote on screen from Pam Stokell, Enrichment Co-ordinator at King Alfred's School: I ran the 'Different Kinds of English' with my Year 7 and Year 8 groups this morning, and they both loved it.
